Emmaline likes to play, dig in the dirt, and hop, hop, hop. Unfortunately, she lives in Neataspin where no one is allowed to be untidy or wild or dirty in any way. The one thing Emmaline wants more than anything in the world is a pet bunny, but even bunnies are not allowed to live in Neataspin. Find out how Emmaline finally finds a bunny to keep her from being lonely, and changes the fate of the entire town in the process. Color pictures throughout the book make it fun to read and think about what it would be like to live in Neataspin. This book would also make a great read-aloud to a group of kids. The author uses language like she is making a soup – all the sounds and syllables meld together to create the perfect “taste” for Emmaline’s moods and adventures. I would recommend this book to any young readers who like Junie B. Jones, Judy Moody, Clementine or Amber Brown.
