    When Dewey moves to the Hill near Los Alamos to live with her father in 1943, everything changes. Her father works on the “gadget” that will end the war, and his work is top secret. Dewey has to deal with some challenges on the Hill. Her father works long hours, and she’s different from the other kids – after all, not many kids spend their time digging through the dump to find gears and electrical parts.
