Mia sees things a bit differently than most people. To her, numbers and letters all have colors, and sounds have both colors and shapes. For example, her cat’s purr is a yellowish-orange haze, which led to his name – Mango. Ever since a very embarrassing incident in third grade, Mia has kept her special way of seeing things a secret – even from her parents and best friend. When she is thirteen, it finally comes out. Mia and her parents are afraid she is crazy or has a brain tumor. Mia may be different, but she’s definitely not crazy. And she’s not the only one who sees this way.
