Busy Busy Moose by Nancy Van Laan is illustrated by Amy Rusch. Beginning reader books often get a little lost in the mix between picture books and older kids fiction. But some of these simple books are little gems that really lend themselves to family reading. Mo Willems’ Elephant and Piggie books and Cynthia Rylant’s Mr. Putter and Tabby books come to mind. The library has several Nancy Van Laan books, from toddler to this easy reader Busy Busy Moose. Its humorous spare illustrations and gentle tone of helpfulness make this a nice choice to read as a family.
