The Clouds Above

Travel up a wobbly, never-ending spiral staircase into a sky of animated clouds on an adventure with Simon and his cat, Jack, in The Clouds Above by Jordan Crane. This is a beautifully illustrated graphic novel, though I would say it’s more of an art book. Even the barcode on the back of the book is an artful cloud. Each page contains a window into Sam and Jack’s adventure from escaping class to traveling up in the sky, where they meet some menacing birds, a friendly pink cloud name Perch who can’t stop crying, and an ugly storm. You’ll be surprised how this story ends as Simon and Jack return to school and the whole class tricks their horrible teacher, Miss Poe. It’s easy to get caught up in this dream world.
