Piper McCloud is a normal, everyday farm girl with one difference: she can fly! Her parents don’t want her to fly, but she just can’t help it. Then one day a woman from a secret government agency shows up and tells Piper about a special school for children with abilities where she can learn to use and control her gift. Once Piper has been at the school for a while, however, she discovers that the school is doing some very shady things, and does not have her best interests at heart. Piper has to band together with the other students in a fight for their lives.

This is one of my favorite new books of the year.
