Meet the BFG or Big Friendly Giant, who collects dreams and has to eat snozzcumbers (nasty cucumber like vegetables) because he doesn’t like to eat children like the other giants (with names like Bonecruncher and Meatdripper.) A little orphan girl named Sophie befriends the BFG (after he kidsnatched her!) She is horrified when she finds out what the other giants eat, and decides that she and the BFG must come up with a plan to put an end to it – a plan that includes the sneaking into the Royal Palace in London to talk to the Queen of England.Roald Dahl made up over 200 words for this book and he will have you laughing out loud. Don’t miss reading about frobscottle (the BFG’s favorite drink) and whizpopping (his favorite activity – farting). Roald Dahl is one of my favorite authors, and this book is my favorite out of them all. I love Quentin Blake’s illustrations, too.
