Like Frog and Toad, George and Martha are another beloved pair of friends in Children’s literature. These two hippos do everything together, and discover the ups and downs of friendship. There’s always something to learn about honesty, forgiveness, and empathy — told so simply by James Marshall, with great sense of humor.
Each picture book (7 books in the series) has a collection of five very short stories that are very funny indeed. Martha loves to make pea soup – George really doesn’t like pea soup but can’t tell Martha, so he pours his soup into his loafers (didn’t you know that Hippos wear loafers?) What will Martha say to George?
George and Martha stories are also available in the Easy Reader section.
