• Smitten, by David Gordon

David Gordon’s book Smitten is the ultimate story of friendship. Mitton and Sock are both lost and alone, without their other halves. When they meet, they decide that searching for their other halves is in order, and they set out on an adventure involving a laundromat, a subway, and lots of accidents. In the end, the two realize, that even if they never find their other halves, they still have each other. Sock and Mitton provide a very good example of friendship, and how good friends should act. The illustrations, also done by Gordon, provide a good backround image to the tone of the story and will allow children to follow along with what is happening in the story very easily.
This is a good book for anyone looking for a fun new approach to friendship and everything that comes along with it. It is a light hearted story that all children who are learning how to read will enjoy.
