Do you like words – especially strange, silly, or nonsense words? You’ll like this book full of magnificent words. Words that just sound funny when you say them out loud, like “hobnob” or “oaf.” Or did you know how to spell the sound of a yawn? It’s “Harrowollowarrah.” Practice reading words backwards and impress your friends with words they’ll never know. Well, a lot of the words don’t really exist, but they’re still impressive.
This is a re-release of a book originally published in 1958 with simple black and white illustrations. It has the feeling of all the wonderful words that Roald Dahl likes to make up in his books (especially the BFG.) And if you like Shel Silverstein, you’ll enjoy this book too. Check it out!
