Barry is an average boy–nothing special, no magical powers or special talents–just an average boy. Who happens to wake up one day and discover (kind of slowly) that he is a dog in a boy’s body. Just like that, no explanations, no instruction manual. What might be viewed as a problem turns into a really cool adventure for Barry. The story includes lots of diagrams, asides and factoids. Two talking fleas on Barry’s head carry on an absurd running commentary. There’s some gross humor, but that’s part of the appeal, especially for elementary aged boys. Grades 4-7.
