Every old house has at least one mouse, and this old house has a mousewife and her husband. One day the house’s owner gets a wild turtledove from a boy, and she puts it in a cage. Unfortunately, the dove won’t eat or drink. The mousewife takes notice of the uneaten food and takes a risk by squeezing into the cage for the peas. She wants to set him free, but who will she talk to about the world outside the window once he’s gone?
