This funny chapter book in our “easy reader” collection is a little longer than some easy readers, but still great for kids learning to read. Each page has only a few sentences, or sometimes just a few words, and the illustrations are very entertaining. The mixed-up cow is in the first chapter and the last, and the rest of the book features other humorous characters in their own very short stories. Kids who like the humor of Mo Willems (Pigeon books, Elephant and Piggie readers) or Shel Silverstein’s poetry will definitely enjoy The Big Fat Cow. Andy Griffiths also has some silly series books for more advanced readers, including The Butt Wars, Schooling Around, and the “Just” books (Just Wacky, Just Annoying, Just Disgusting, and more).
