Emily Wiggins is on the run from her evil, money-hungry uncle and the Catchum Child-Catching Services (Orphans, Strays and Roustabouts Rounded Up Quickly) who intend to turn her into him. What in the blinkin bloomers should Emily do? Get away of course, but everything Emily tries seems to bring her closer to danger. In an attempt to get to Redbud to live with her Aunt, Emily, along with her pet turtle Rufus and fellow-orphan Jackson, must go to great lengths to protect her fortune….before it is too late. Phyllis Reynolds Naylor pleases again with a playful story about a young girl just looking for a home. Emily’s Fortune is a great, light read that will surely bring a smile to your face!
