The Zombie Chasers

The Zombie Chasers by John Kloepfer is both funny and disgusting: a zombie outbreak happens while Zack’s parents are away, and before he knows it, his sister is a zombie and he’s on the run with his friend Rice, his sister’s best friend (and complete diva) Madison, and Madison’s zombie chihuahua. They try to escape, defeating any zombies in their way while reaching a shocking conclusion about what may have caused the outbreak. The illustrations really add to the descriptions of pus-oozing zombie bodies with body parts falling off, and you may not want to eat while you’re reading. This would be great for someone who is just starting to move into longer chapter books, but it’s perfect for anyone who loves a hilarious zombie story.
