When Zita accidentally opens a space portal, her friend Joseph is snatched by a bunch of furry tentacles. Now, she has to rescue him by going through that same portal. On the other side, Zita is faced with monters, robots, and some strange new friends. Now all she needs to do is find Joseph, rescue him, and find a way home. . .well, after she figures out exactly where she is.

This quirky tale is an action packed read. Hatke’s cartoony illustrations capture Zita’s courage and doubts, but especially her adventuresome spirit. Zita is a strong heroine who is willing to risk everything to get her friend home safely and to befriend all of the creatures she encounters along the way.
