First of all, you’ll definitely need to suspend all disbelief for this book. If you’re willing to do that, though, you can ride along on a rollicking adventure involving flying cars and gum that lets you surf the internet as you chew. The best part is that the wacky inventions are created by kids. The three main characters are all around twelve years old, and as you have probably guessed from the title, they are *insanely* gifted. They attend the Blatt School for the Insanely Gifted along with classmates whose specialties range from building bridges to teaching rats to tap-dance.

Daphna is musically inclined – she wrote her first sonata at three years old and is currently working on a rhapsody. Thunk invents all sorts of things – including the previously mentioned flying car and gum. Cynthia is amazing on stage – she’s been on Broadway since she was six. Unfortunately, being insanely gifted doesn’t mean their lives are easy. Daphna’s mother disappeared two months ago, and now Daphna and her friends are being chased by strange men in antelope masks asking about something called a “Flex-bed.”

Join Daphna and her friends as they try to figure out just what is going on and how they can straighten the whole mess out.
