This book follows five friends: Lucy, Henry, Evie, Russell and May. On the surface they appear as “average” fourth graders. They attend school, no matter how repetitive and boring it can be, and enjoy hanging out with friends afterwards. That is until the unique Ms. Mirabel visits their classroom and brings with her the magic of words. Words begin to flow from each of them and the reader soon finds out that these five fourth graders have feelings, issues and emotions deep inside and are slowly learning to let them out in verse.
