This standalone title follows the adventures of Fluffy, the pet hamster of the famous superhero, Captain Amazing. Fluffy is just one of Captain Amazing’s pets. The others, Shifty a chameleon, Roscoe a dog, and Manny a cat each have a superpower and, at various times, have used those powers to earn them more of Captain Amazing’s limited time. Now, Fluffy hopes he too can prove he has what it takes to become Captain Amazing’s sidekick. But, can the rivalry that takes place within their small household prepare Fluffy to be a real superhero?

Santat has great comic timing and a willingness to throw in goofball action as necessary; however, this graphic novel only light reading. Not only do Fluffy and his fellow pets learn what really matters to them when they get caught up in a Super Villain’s plot and have to join forces to save Captain Amazing, they also discover that being a hero is about more than your powers. Full-color illustrations capture the personality and emotions of the animals, as well as the fatigue of an overworked Captain Amazing.
