With lots of amazing photographs and interesting facts, this book about all things eggs really is amazing. While no specific type of egg or animal gets much focus, each egg fact is demonstrated vividly with animals ranging from insects to mammals. Did you know that the platypus isn’t the only mammal to lay eggs? Spiny Anteaters, found in Australia, Tasmania, and New Guinea, also lay eggs. Or do you know what the outer casing of a shark’s egg is called? A“mermaid’s purse.”

Each page offers enough information to capture readers’ interest and could lead to hours of research for the truly engaged.
