Mouse & Lion is a captivating retelling of the fable of the lion and the mouse.  This time, Mouse gets top billing since he really is the hero of the story.  Unusual perspectives, richly detailed watercolors, and an ivory background give the artwork a fresh look.  The artist studied the four-striped African grass mouse, as well as lions, to give a realistic feel to the illustrations. Rand Burkert has also released a CD of songs inspired by Aesop’s Fables, also called Mouse & Lion.
