Bird Talk: What Birds Are Saying and Why  is a gorgeous picture book that works well for many ages.  Lita Judge captures a variety of  birds with beautiful watercolor illustrations.  She includes  fascinating information about bird behavior, habitat and range for each species.  Judge draws on her childhood experiences with her grandparents, who were ornithologists. The family also raised orphaned and injured birds.  Judge continues her observations in the woods and meadows of her home in New Hampshire. Bird Talk includes a glossary of birding terms, references and the website for the Cornell Lab of Ornithology for more information.
