Nowhere Girl unfolds with the intriguing history of Luchi: even though she has an American mother, all she knows of home is a women’s prison in Thailand where she was born and raised. Luchi knows no other family than the warden and other prisoners she has grown up around.

The sudden death of Luchi’s mother sets events in motion that mean Luchi will have to leave the prison and go off on her own. Where will she go? How will she survive? Luchi doesn’t even know if she has family, except for a few scraps of papers that may hold clues to her history. She does know her mother kept her past a secret for a good reason… didn’t she?

Readers who are fans of  Picture of Hollis Woods by Patricia Reilly Giff will enjoy this novel exploring the search for belonging.
