Helena, the oldest, and her three mice siblings live with the Upstairs Cranstons. When their human family decides to set sail to England, Helena realizes she and her family must travel with them, despite their intense fear of water. Aboard the huge ship, Helena, Louise, Beatrice and Lamont meet up with other mice traveling with humans, including royalty, as well as mice who are part of the ship’s crew. Many silly adventures lead to a surprising ending for all the Cranstons – humans and mice. If you love mice as main characters, you should also try The Cheshire Cheese Cat: A Dickens of a Tale by Carmen Deedy and The Great Cheese Conspiracy by Jean Van Leeuwen. It’s a squeaky good time!
