Falcon

Falcon is one of the most beautiful picture books I’ve ever seen.  Tim Jessell, author and artist, has been a licensed falconer for 25 years.  His love and respect for the falcons he knows so well comes across in every painting. The story is told from the perspective of a little boy who wishes he could fly like a falcon.  He imagines flying to locations around the country, all shown from the falcon’s perspective.  Jessell’s use of unusual perspectives, lush brushwork and glowing color makes the illustrations stand alone as individual works of art. This picture book is a treasure to pore over during a quiet time with your child.  Recommended for anyone with an interest in nature.
