Callie loves drama – as in theater, not social drama. This book is full of both, though, as Callie navigates through middle school. Kisses and crushes feature both on stage and in real life as the students try to figure who they are. Callie is in love with the stage, but since her singing voice leaves much to be desired, she sticks to behind the scenes work. She also may be in love with Greg, an eighth grade jock, or maybe Justin, but he’s gay, or maybe Jesse, Justin’s twin brother. The twists, turns, ups and downs of middle school can make anyone’s head spin, but Callie keeps her cool (mostly).
