Legend of the Ghost Dog, by Elizabeth Cody Kimmel, is a fast-paced mystery that will keep upper elementary readers turning the pages. Likeable heroine “Tee” bears a lot of responsibility for her little brother while her father researches a book onsite near Nome, Alaska. Tee’s search for a little quiet time lead her to a remote trail with a local legend about it. Tee and her beagle, Henry, sense something not quite animal, but definitely not human on the trail. Their first actual encounter leads Tee to think that the coal-black animal is a dog who’s been missing for decades.. Tee amd her friend Quin vow to unravel this mystery. But they don’t count on getting lost in an Alaskan blizzard that risks everyone’s life. This is a story of healing and redemption, with a touch of the supernatural.
