A Little Book of Sloth is a strong contender for the cutest children’s book I’ve ever seen. Lucy Cooke, filmmaker, photographer, and zoologist, has captured the adorable residents of the Avarios Sloth Sanctuary in Costa Rica. Founded by Judy Arroyo, the refuge is the home to 150 baby and adult sloths. The wonderful photos capture the sloths snoozing, chowing down, clowning around, and cuddling with each other. There is something soothing about seeing these “masters of mellow” in the refuge habitat. Try reading this calming and cheerful book at bedtime after a long day. Both kids and adults will enjoy the photos, facts and gentle humor. Visit slothsanctuary.com to “adopt” a sloth and make a donation to support their work with orphan sloths and sloths rescued from poachers. Recommended for all ages by Victoria.
