Last Dance at Jitterbug Lounge by Pamela Morsi is told from two perspectives. First there’s Bud, a World War II veteran who has suffered a stroke. We travel with him in his flashbacks of the war, memories of his beloved wife, fears, and hopes as he lay immobile in his hospital bed. We also read the story of his grandson, Jack, who has reluctantly rushed to be at Bud’s side. Jack is absorbed in his work and his troubled marriage and feels ambivalent towards his grandfather. As Jack gets to know his family, hearing the stories that Bud was hesitant to tell, he comes to see what is important in his own life.

Along with the serious tale, there are also funny stories, glamorous nights dancing, and music in the air. You won’t want to miss this beautiful story.
