A library card allows you to borrow materials, use public computers, and access online resources. To get a card, complete a registration form and apply for a library card at the Circulation Desk. In addition to a completed registration form you need to bring:
A parent or legal guardian must sign the registration sheet for children under 18 years of age. A parent's identification may be used for minors. A parent or legal guardian has legal responsibility for his or her child's use of the library. Always bring your card when you come to the library. If you don't have your card with you, you may check out one time by supplying identification. See all applicable Loan Periods and Checkout Limits for library card users. Lost or Stolen Cards Notify the library immediately if your card is lost or stolen. Borrowers are responsible for the items checked out on their cards until the library has been notified. There is a $1.00 replacement fee for lost, damaged or stolen cards. Service Area: Anyone may get a free library card. People who live outside of the library's service area may apply for a card but will have limited borrowing privileges. The library's service area includes the following counties: Chase, Clay, Dickinson, Geary, Lyon, Marion, Marshall, Morris, Pottawatomie, Riley, Wabaunsee, and Washington.
Your PIN is by default the last 4 digits of the telephone number you used when setting up your library card. If you have forgotten your PIN, you may recover it by going to the following website: Forgot Your PIN? You may also change your PIN at anytime by logging into your account and then selecting "Change Logon" in your Patron Account.
